Responsibilities
- Collaborate as a member of a two-person team or within a convoy.
- Load and unload various types of cargo.
- Acquire necessary special permits and documentation for transporting goods internationally.
- Drive and operate straight or articulated trucks for the transportation of materials and merchandise.
- Supervise the overall condition of the vehicle, including tire, light, brake, and cold storage inspection.
- Execute brake adjustments as required.
- Perform ad hoc repairs in case of roadside emergencies.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, assuming responsibility for all vehicle aspects.
- Implement preventative maintenance measures on the vehicle.
- Receive and transmit relevant information to central dispatch.
- Record details regarding cargo, service hours, distance covered, and fuel consumption.
- Secure cargo using tarps and ensure its safety throughout transit.
